Complete Tire Services Under One Roof

Tire Sales & Installation

New Tire Sales & Installation

Whether you need one tire or a full set, we'll help you choose the right tires for your vehicle and driving conditions. Our expert installation includes mounting, balancing, and proper disposal of your old tires. We'll also check your valve stems and make sure your tire pressure monitoring system is working correctly.

Average installation time: 45-60 minutes

Tire Rotation & Balancing

Tire Rotation & Balancing

Regular rotation keeps your tires wearing evenly, which means they last longer and your vehicle handles better. We recommend rotating your tires every 5,000-7,000 miles—usually with every other oil change.

Buy 4 tires from us and get free lifetime rotation. That's a $25 value every time you come in.

Unbalanced tires cause vibration, premature wear, and can damage your suspension. We use professional equipment to ensure your ride is smooth and your tires last as long as possible.

Tire Repair

Tire Repair & Patching

Got a nail or small puncture? Don't replace the whole tire if you don't have to. Most punctures in the tread area can be safely repaired using industry-standard plug and patch methods.

We'll inspect the damage, let you know if it's repairable, and get you back on the road quickly. If the damage is too severe or in an unsafe location (sidewall), we'll explain why replacement is necessary.

Average repair time: 20-30 minutes

Wheel Alignment

Wheel Alignment Services

Your alignment affects how your tires wear and how your vehicle handles. If your car pulls to one side, your steering wheel is off-center, or your tires are wearing unevenly, you probably need an alignment.

We recommend checking your alignment:

  • When you buy new tires

  • If you hit a pothole or curb

  • Once a year as part of routine maintenance

Proper alignment can add thousands of miles to your tire life.

TPMS Service

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Service

Is your tire pressure warning light on? We diagnose and repair TPMS issues, replace faulty sensors, and reprogram your system after tire installation.

Modern vehicles rely on these sensors for safety and fuel efficiency. Don't ignore that warning light—let us check it out.

Why Buy Tires from Yoder Automotive?

You could buy tires anywhere. Big box stores, online retailers, chain shops—they all sell tires. So why choose a local shop like ours?

Here's what makes us different:

LOCAL EXPERTISE

Marlin Yoder has been working on cars in this community for years. We know Salisbury roads, we know North Carolina weather, and we know which tires hold up best in real-world conditions. When you buy from us, you're getting personalized recommendations—not whatever's on sale this week.

COMPETITIVE PRICING

We work hard to match or beat the big chain stores on price. But unlike them, you won't sit in a waiting room for three hours or get upsold on services you don't need. We give you the straight truth about what you need and what you don't.

Price match guarantee: Find a lower price on the same tire? We'll match it.

CONVENIENT & FAST

No appointment? No problem. Call ahead and we'll let you know how quickly we can get you in. Most tire installations take 45-60 minutes, and you're welcome to wait in our comfortable waiting area or drop off your vehicle and we'll text you when it's ready.

You can also use our 24-hour drop-off service—leave your keys in the night drop box and we'll have your vehicle ready the next day.

FULL-SERVICE AUTO SHOP

Need an alignment with those tires? Brakes? Oil change? We handle everything in one visit. No need to make multiple stops or deal with multiple shops. We'll take care of your whole vehicle while we've got it.

WARRANTY BACKED

Every tire installation comes with our 12-Month/12,000-Mile Nationwide Warranty. If something goes wrong with our work, we'll make it right—whether you're here in Salisbury or across the country.

Plus, most tire manufacturers offer their own warranties that we'll help you take advantage of if needed.

 WE HONOR THOSE WHO SERVE

Active military, veterans, and seniors receive special discounts on all tire purchases. It's our way of saying thank you for your service and contributions to our community.

 HONEST, STRAIGHTFORWARD SERVICE

From leaving his Amish roots to building this business, Marlin Yoder values hard work, integrity, and treating people right. We don't use scare tactics or high-pressure sales. We'll show you what's going on with your tires, explain your options, and let you make the decision that's right for you.

When Should You Replace Your Tires?

Most people wait too long to replace their tires. By the time you notice a problem, you've been driving on unsafe tires for weeks or even months.

Here are the warning signs that it's time for new tires:

✅ Low Tread Depth If your tread is at or below 4/32 of an inch, it's time to replace them. At that depth, your tires can't grip the road properly in rain or snow.

The penny test: Insert a penny into your tread with Lincoln's head upside down. If you can see the top of his head, your tires are worn out.

✅ Uneven Wear Patterns If one side of your tire is more worn than the other, or if you see bald spots, that's a sign of alignment or suspension problems. You'll need new tires AND you'll need to fix the underlying issue or the new tires will wear out fast too.

✅ Cracks, Bulges, or Damage Sidewall cracks, bulges, or cuts are dangerous. These weak spots can lead to sudden tire failure, especially at highway speeds. If you see visible damage, don't wait—get that tire replaced immediately.

✅ Tire Age Even if your tires look fine, rubber degrades over time. Most tire manufacturers recommend replacing tires that are 6-10 years old, regardless of tread depth. Heat, sunlight, and road chemicals break down the rubber compounds.

Not sure how old your tires are? Check the DOT code on the sidewall. The last four digits tell you the week and year of manufacture (example: 2319 means the 23rd week of 2019).

✅ Vibration or Noise If your vehicle vibrates at certain speeds or your tires are louder than they used to be, something's wrong. It could be an imbalance, alignment issue, or internal damage to the tire. Either way, have it checked out.

✅Frequent Loss of Pressure Do you find yourself adding air every few weeks? That tire has a leak. Small punctures can often be repaired, but if you're constantly losing pressure, the tire may need to be replaced.

Not sure if your tires are safe?

Come by for a FREE tire inspection. We'll check your tread depth, look for damage, check the age of your tires, and give you an honest assessment. No appointment needed, no obligation to buy.

Tire FAQs: Your Questions Answered

Q: How long does tire installation take?

A: Most tire installations take 45-60 minutes. This includes mounting the new tires, balancing them, installing them on your vehicle, checking your tire pressure monitoring system, and properly disposing of your old tires. If we need to do an alignment or other services at the same time, it may take a bit longer. We'll give you an accurate time estimate when you call.

Q: Do you offer financing or payment plans?

A: Yes! We understand that a new set of tires is an unexpected expense. We offer flexible payment options to help you get the tires you need today and pay over time. Ask us about financing when you call or visit.

Q: What if I only need one or two tires?

A: We can replace individual tires, but we'll be honest with you about whether that's the best choice for your vehicle. If your other tires are worn, mismatched tires can affect handling and safety. We'll check all four tires and give you our professional recommendation, but the final decision is always yours.

Q: Can I buy tires online and have you install them?

A: Absolutely. If you've already purchased tires online or from another source, we're happy to install them. We charge a competitive installation fee per tire, which includes mounting, balancing, valve stems, disposal, and TPMS service if needed. Just give us a call to schedule.

Q: Do you rotate tires that I didn't buy from you?

A: Yes. Tire rotation is $25, or free with any service over $75 (like an oil change). If you bought your tires from us, rotation is free for life—just schedule it with your regular maintenance.

Q: What brands of tires do you recommend?

A: It depends on your vehicle, your budget, and how you drive. For most everyday drivers, we recommend quality all-season tires from brands like Michelin, Goodyear, or Cooper. If you want maximum performance, we can set you up with high-performance tires. If budget is your main concern, we'll find you a reliable tire that fits your needs without breaking the bank.

Bottom line: we'll recommend what we'd put on our own vehicles.

Q: Do you have tires in stock or do I have to wait?

A: We keep common sizes in stock, but for less common sizes or specific brands, we may need to order them. Most orders arrive within 1-2 business days. Call ahead and we'll let you know if we have your size in stock or how quickly we can get it.

Q: What's included in your warranty?

A: Every tire installation comes with our 12-Month/12,000-Mile Nationwide Warranty on workmanship. That means if something goes wrong with how we installed your tires, we'll fix it at no charge—even if you're traveling and need to visit another shop in the network.

Additionally, most tire manufacturers offer their own warranties covering defects, road hazard, and tread life. We'll help you understand what's covered and file claims if needed.

Q: Can you fix a tire with a nail in it?

A: In most cases, yes. If the puncture is in the tread area (not the sidewall), smaller than 1/4 inch, and the tire structure isn't damaged, we can safely repair it using a patch-and-plug method. We'll inspect the tire and let you know if it's repairable or if it needs to be replaced for safety reasons.

Q: How often should I check my tire pressure?

A: At least once a month, and before any long trips. Under-inflated tires wear faster, hurt your fuel economy, and are more likely to fail. Over-inflated tires ride rough and don't grip as well.

Your vehicle's recommended tire pressure is on a sticker inside the driver's door jamb. Don't go by what's printed on the tire sidewall—that's the maximum pressure, not the recommended pressure.

Free air is available at our shop anytime during business hours. Stop by and we'll check it for you.

Q: Will new tires improve my gas mileage?

A: If your current tires are worn out or underinflated, yes—new, properly inflated tires will improve your fuel economy. Worn tires create more rolling resistance, which makes your engine work harder. You probably won't see a dramatic difference, but every bit helps.

Q: Do I need an alignment when I get new tires?

A: We always recommend having your alignment checked when you install new tires. Proper alignment helps your tires wear evenly and last longer. If your alignment is off, you could wear out your brand-new tires prematurely.

We'll do a free alignment check with every tire purchase. If you need an adjustment, we'll let you know.
